Rapper D.Ark has directly addressed allegations that he used marijuana, firmly denying the claims.
On January 7, D.Ark shared a handwritten letter on his Instagram, stating that all investigations have been completed and that detailed drug tests returned negative results.
The rapper, whose real name is Kim Woo Rim (age 22), wrote, “I endured false accusations and, because I had nothing to hide, I fully cooperated with the investigation. All detailed tests came back negative, and I am now focusing solely on making music.”
Previously, rumors circulated that D.Ark was under police investigation last year for allegedly violating South Korea’s Narcotics Control Act. The claims alleged that he had distributed and smoked marijuana.
In his handwritten statement, D.Ark clarified, “I was unfairly investigated over a simple allegation of inhalation. I went through searches, seizures, and phone forensics, and I believe the results have proven my innocence.” He emphasized that claims related to drug distribution were exaggerated false reports and were never part of the actual investigation.
He added, “From the beginning, distribution was never part of the investigation. It was an exaggerated and misleading report, but rather than rushing to defend myself, I chose to wait for the truth to come out.” The rapper also addressed what he described as a long history of malicious reporting.
“I’ve experienced a lot of malicious media coverage since I was 15, so in a way, I’ve grown used to these repeated false reports,” he shared candidly.
Taking responsibility, D.Ark said, “I believe it is largely my fault that I ended up facing this investigation and public criticism, and I am reflecting deeply on that.”
As for his future plans, he pledged, “I will live more uprightly so that even these kinds of suspicions never arise again, and I want to communicate with the world through my music.”
He concluded by thanking his supporters, saying, “I sincerely thank everyone who believed in me and supported me.”
D.Ark is originally from Yanji, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China, and rose to public recognition through 'Show Me the Money 777' and 'Show Me the Money 9.' He later placed third on High School Rapper 4 in 2021.
He also previously drew attention for dating rumors involving Lee Seung Ah, the daughter of singer Seol Woon Do. At the time, D.Ark was 18 years old, while Lee Seung Ah was an adult, with an eight-year age gap between them.
