
Rapper D.Ark arrested on suspicion of distributing and using marijuana.
According to a New Daily report on October 28, the Mokpo Police Station executed an arrest warrant against D.Ark on October 27. The rapper faces charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act for allegedly distributing and smoking marijuana.
Police officials cited by the outlet stated that D.Ark is denying the allegations. A representative from his agency also told another media outlet that D.Ark tested negative in a preliminary drug test conducted by the police. The rapper is currently awaiting the results of a detailed laboratory test.
Born in Yanji, Yanbian, China, D.Ark is of Korean-Chinese descent. He first gained public attention through his appearances on popular hip-hop survival programs, including Mnet’s 'Show Me the Money 777,' 'Show Me the Money 9,' and 'High School Rapper 4.'
Recently, D.Ark released his digital single “SHE’S GONE” (feat. BE’O) and expressed his intention to resume musical activities after signing with a new agency.
Under South Korea’s Narcotics Control Act, individuals convicted of marijuana use may face up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 100 million KRW (about 69,837 USD), while those involved in distribution, sale, or brokering may be sentenced to life imprisonment or at least five years in prison.
