
'Once We Were Us' (directed by Kim Do Young) has maintained its position at the top of the Korean box office for the 19th consecutive day.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office data system on January 30, 'Once We Were Us' drew 28,847 moviegoers the previous day, bringing its total audience to 2,143,112.
The film is a relatable romance that follows Eun Ho and Jung Won, former lovers who reunite by chance after 10 years and revisit the traces of their shared memories. Starring Koo Kyo Hwan and Moon Ga Young, the film has continued its strong run after surpassing its break-even point of 1.1 million admissions.
Second place went to 'Choir of God' (directed by Kim Hyung Hyup), which attracted 24,710 viewers on the same day, pushing its cumulative total to 786,058. The film, starring Park Shi Hoo and Jung Jin Woon, portrays an ironic premise in which a North Korean State Security Department officer creates a fake propaganda troupe.
In third place was 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' (directed by James Cameron), which sold 9,420 tickets, bringing its cumulative audience to 6,613,222.
'Avatar: Fire and Ash' marks the third installment in the Avatar franchise. Following the death of their eldest son, Neteyam, Jake and Neytiri’s family faces a new and even greater threat when the Ash Clan, led by Varang, emerges. The story unfolds amid a Pandora engulfed in fire and ash.
As of 9 a.m. that morning, real-time advance ticket sales rankings were led by 'The King's Warden' (16.6%), followed by 'HUMINT' (15.1%), 'Number One' (8.4%), and 'Once We Were Us' (7.4%).
