The backlash toward Park Na Rae is intensifying as the comedian's former manager submitted a medical diagnosis report to the police.
According to a January 1 report by Munhwa Ilbo, one of the former managers of comedian Park Na Rae has submitted a medical injury report indicating they received stitches due to an injury inflicted by Park Na Rae while drunk.
The Gangnam Police Station is investigating Park Na Rae on suspicion of special assault. In connection with the case, the complainant—her former manager—has submitted an injury diagnosis stating a required recovery period of two weeks.
The former manager claims that in August 2023, while drinking alcohol, Park Na Rae threw a glass toward their face. The glass shattered, causing bruising to his face and a cut on their hand that required four stitches. The injury report submitted to police reportedly states that he received initial suturing treatment at an emergency room on August 9, 2023, and that two weeks of rest and medical care were necessary.
In response to the former manager's claims, Park Na Rae's side has refuted, "There was no such incident. The glass was thrown onto the floor, not at the manager."
In response, online communities have erupted with outrage and disbelief. Many netizens questioned why anyone would throw a glass in the first place, stressing that the act itself—regardless of intent or where it landed—constitutes a dangerous and violent behavior.
They commented:
"This is insane."
"If someone threw a soju glass on the floor at a drinking gathering, I’d cut ties with them immediately. This kind of drunken behavior is the worst."
"So it went as far as physical violence???"
"She says she never threw it, so what does 'thrown on the floor' even mean?"
"If you think throwing a glass on the floor is no big deal, of course, you’d make excuses like that. Wow…"
"How does she know she didn't throw it at the manager? She was piss drunk."
"She acted like she was generous and caring, but turns out she’s a bully doing all kinds of messed-up things. Never trust a celebrity image."
"People who drink almost every day and brag about it—instant red flag."
"I really hate people who throw things. Even if it’s not at someone, if it’s glass, it could shatter and be dangerous. That’s a threat in itself."
"I never want to see her in any media again."
"Throwing the glass on the floor isn't okay either."
"The fact that she admits to throwing the glass on the floor is bad enough."
"If she hadn’t thrown it, no one would’ve been hurt. Saying 'two weeks isn’t serious' completely misses the point. How do you read this and think the first issue is whether two weeks is minor?"
"She's crazy."
"I run a small business. The other night, a drunk customer threw objects at a female employee, broke wall tiles, and made her cry. The guy later claimed he’d never do something like that, even when drunk, and demanded CCTV proof. This Park Na Rae case feels way too close to home—she probably doesn’t remember either."
"Hurting someone while drunk and still not quitting alcohol—that’s the worst. It’s not just bad drinking habits, it’s choosing to keep drinking despite them."
"The act of throwing a glass alone says everything."
"Ugh… what a nightmare person."
"So she did throw it somewhere..."
"That’s violence. Has alcohol completely shut down her brain?"
"Park Na Rae’s response is unbelievably shameless."
