Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin’s side has claimed that a NewJeans member’s family was involved in the background of the so-called “NewJeans tampering” allegations.
On the afternoon of January 28th KST, attorney Kim Sun Woong of law firm Jiam, legal representative for former CEO Min Hee Jin, held an emergency press conference at Challenge Hall in the Kyowon Jonggak Building in Seoul.
Min Hee Jin ultimately did not attend the press conference. Regarding her absence, attorney Kim stated, “There are issues involving the families of the NewJeans members.”
He continued, “It is difficult to speak about those matters. After recently hearing certain things related to family relationships, there was something that caused considerable shock. Because of that, it became difficult for her to appear.”
At the press conference, Min Hee Jin’s side asserted, “She bears absolutely no responsibility in relation to the tampering issue. Rather, she was used by forces seeking to manipulate the stock market,” adding, “A family member of one of the members is connected. At the time, this made it difficult to respond properly. We arranged this press conference in light of several recent developments.”
Attorney Kim further claimed, “Even in the shareholder-related lawsuit between CEO Min and HYBE, there have been attempts to make use of the members’ families. Under these circumstances, we had no choice but to state at least a minimal position,” and added, “We have even discovered evidence that the ‘tampering’ narrative about Min Hee Jin taking NewJeans away was used by stock market collusion forces as a means to benefit themselves by using former CEO Min and NewJeans members,” signaling potential further revelations related to the members.
Meanwhile, the five NewJeans members declared the termination of their exclusive contracts with ADOR in November the year before last, citing a breakdown of trust. However, in October last year, the court did not accept their claims and ruled that their exclusive contracts with ADOR remain valid until July 31, 2029.
Following this, members Haerin and Hyein were the first to return, and Hanni also returned to ADOR. Minji is currently in talks with ADOR. In contrast, ADOR reportedly notified Danielle of contract termination and removed her from the team. ADOR has filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 43.1 billion KRW in damages and penalties against Danielle, one of her family members, and former CEO Min Hee Jin.
