A lawyer has warned that comedian Park Na Rae could face massive financial and career consequences if allegations of explicit sexual conduct inside a work vehicle are legally recognized as workplace harassment.

On January 5, attorney Lee Don Ho of Nova Law Office said in a video posted to his channel that, should the alleged conduct be confirmed, it could constitute sexual harassment or workplace bullying. He explained that in the entertainment industry, the relationship between an artist and a manager involves a clear power imbalance, and that a vehicle used during work hours can legally be considered a workplace.

If someone is forced to witness or hear unwanted sexual behavior in a work space, that can fall under workplace harassment,” Lee said. He added that the severity of legal consequences would depend on the level of explicitness involved, noting that less severe physical contact could result in lighter penalties.

Lee also emphasized that sexual harassment in this context is generally addressed through civil litigation rather than criminal charges. He suggested that the former managers’ decision to file complaints with labor authorities indicates a strategy aimed at establishing that the conduct itself occurred. According to Lee, this factual determination would be the core issue for both sides.

Highlighting the impact on Park’s public image, Lee said that a court ruling acknowledging explicit conduct could make it extremely difficult for her to continue her career. He added that potential advertising contract penalties alone could amount to tens or even hundreds of billions. From a legal standpoint, he suggested that a settlement could be considered to limit further reputational and financial damage.

Earlier, reported on the contents of complaints submitted by Park’s former managers to the labor office. The filings reportedly detail alleged workplace harassment that had not previously been disclosed. According to the complaints, Park engaged in sexual acts with a male companion in the back seat of a vehicle while the managers were seated in the front.

The managers claimed that, due to the confined nature of the vehicle, they were unable to leave the situation and were forced to witness the acts both visually and audibly. They further alleged that Park repeatedly kicked the driver’s seat during the incident, creating a risk of a serious traffic accident.

Labor authorities are expected to summon the complainants later this month to investigate the allegations. Park was sued by her former managers on December 3, with claims including workplace harassment, aggravated injury, proxy prescription practices, and unpaid expenses. The plaintiffs have announced plans to seek damages totaling 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD).

Additional controversies have since emerged, including allegations of illegal medical procedures involving unlicensed personnel. Park’s agency has denied these claims, stating that all medical treatments were administered by licensed professionals.

On December 8, Park announced that she would suspend all broadcast activities until the situation is resolved, apologizing to viewers and industry colleagues. She later stated that she would refrain from further public comment and allow the matter to proceed through formal legal channels.
