Singer Kim Jang Hoon has once again reaffirmed his commitment to lifelong giving, saying he hopes to continue donating until the day he dies.
Kim appeared on singer Sean’s YouTube channel on January 13, where he openly shared his philosophy on money and donation.
During the conversation, Kim revealed, “I’ve set my goal donation amount at 2 trillion KRW(approx. 1.5 billion USD),” expressing his determination to devote his life to helping others.
He emphasized that he is fully content with his current life, saying, “I’m comfortable right now. There’s nothing inconvenient about what I eat, where I sleep, or what I wear. Starting the year after next, I can even ride the subway for free.” Kim added that although his lifestyle may look uncomfortable to others, he personally feels no anxiety or discomfort.
“I’ve always chosen the path that makes me comfortable and happy,” he said. “I’m grateful that people appreciate my life choices, but I genuinely like where I am now.” He went on to explain that having experienced both wealth and financial hardship, he firmly believes money can prevent misfortune but is not an absolute measure of happiness.

Kim Jang Hoon is well known for donating most of his earnings over the years, with his cumulative donations exceeding 20 billion KRW (approx. 15 million USD). He recently revealed on a radio program that his current assets consist of a 30 million KRW(approx. 22,000 USD) housing deposit and just 2 million KRW(approx. 1,500 USD) in his bank account.
Reiterating his long-term vision, Kim said he hopes to continue donating until his final day, noting, “I think that level of commitment is necessary if we truly want to solve the problem of hungry children.” He also added that beyond financial contributions, he believes there are many other forms of giving, including donating through action and personal involvement.
