Actor Jung Woo Sung has become the subject of online “viral marketing” allegations, which his agency has firmly denied.
On January 14 KST, a representative from Jung Woo Sung’s agency Artist Company told “The viral marketing allegations are completely unfounded.”
The drama in question, 'Made in Korea', has drawn attention as Jung Woo Sung’s comeback project following recent controversies surrounding his personal life. Since its staggered release began on December 24, the series has generated mixed reactions, with some viewers criticizing what they describe as an overly intense acting tone.
Amid this discussion, multiple posts praising Jung Woo Sung’s acting began appearing across online communities and parenting forums. Because several of these posts were uploaded around the same time and shared similar formats, suspicions arose that they were part of a coordinated viral campaign.
In response to the growing speculation, the agency categorically denied any involvement in viral marketing efforts.
Meanwhile, Made in Korea continues to show strong global performance. As of January 7, the series ranked No. 1 in Disney+’s TV Show Top 10 category, taking the top spot in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and placing second in Japan and Singapore, underscoring its international popularity.
