Singer Jessica Jung has shared her thoughts after completing a concert that drew widespread attention for featuring a Girls’ Generation medley.
On January 13 KST, Jessica posted several photos from her recent solo concert on her personal social media account, along with the message:
“Another reflection of us. Thank you for letting me shine. None of this happens alone. You made it echo around the world.”
The photos show Jessica performing on stage at her solo concert held in Malaysia on January 11.
At the concert, Jessica surprised audiences by performing a medley of iconic Girls’ Generation hits, including “Into the New World,” “Gee,” “Genie,” “The Boys,” and “Mr.Mr.”
This marked the first time Jessica has performed Girls’ Generation songs on stage since her departure from the group.
While many fans expressed excitement and nostalgia at seeing Jessica revisit the group’s music, reactions were mixed. Some fans voiced discomfort, pointing to Jessica’s past actions following her departure — including the publication of a novel that was perceived by some as indirectly referencing former members.
Meanwhile, Jessica left Girls’ Generation in September 2014 and later joined Coridel Entertainment. Since then, she has focused on solo music activities and her own fashion brand, primarily promoting across Asia outside of Korea.
