Tony An shared candid thoughts about marriage and revealed why a past relationship with a fellow celebrity did not lead to the altar.
On the January 21 episode of 'What’s the Point of Saving It', Tony An appeared as a guest and spoke about his personal life, including the pressure he has felt regarding marriage. He mentioned that his mother, who became well known through her appearances on popular show, 'My Ugly Duckling', has been urging him to get married for the past ten years.
Park Seri asked whether he currently has plans to marry. Tony An replied that he originally had no intention of getting married, but his perspective began to change in his mid forties. “Because of work, I started spending more time around young children,” he explained. “I used to not really think kids were cute, but at some point, I found them incredibly adorable.” This shift led him to think differently about marriage and having children.
Lee Young Ja then asked if, after 30 years in broadcasting and meeting countless people, he had ever thought, “This is the one.” Tony An answered honestly, saying, “I think there was someone before. I thought, ‘This person could be someone I might marry.’” When pressed further by Park Seri, he revealed that the person was also a celebrity.

Reflecting on why the relationship did not work out, Tony An said, “I think we were both too young at the time. A relationship needs patience, but we both lacked that.”
When asked if he feels more mature now, Tony An responded, “Most of my friends around me are married now, and I hear a lot about married life from them.” However, he added with a sigh, “Even so, marriage still isn’t easy.”
His honest remarks resonated with viewers, offering a glimpse into his evolving outlook on love, marriage, and life.
