Choi Kang Rok emerged as the final winner of 'Culinary Class Wars Season 2,' defeating Cooking Monster in a unanimous decision by the judges.
The finale episode of the 'Culinary Class Wars Season 2' was released on January 13 via Netflix, featuring the final showdown titled 'Cooking for Myself.'
The last round saw Choi Kang Rok, who had advanced directly to the finals, face off against Cooking Monster, who earned his spot after a fierce semifinal battle against Hou Deok Juk. For the final mission, both chefs were tasked with creating a dish under the theme “Cooking for Myself,” with victory determined by a unanimous choice from judges Baek Jong Won and Ahn Sung Jae.
Ahead of the match, Cooking Monster expressed his determination, saying, “I want to win until the very end and earn recognition not only from the judges, but from many fellow chefs as well.” Choi Kang Rok, meanwhile, declared, “I will break through the end of illusion.”
In the final cook-off, Cooking Monster presented his own take on sundae gukbap, while Choi Kang Rok impressed with a broth-based dish featuring crushed tofu. After tasting both dishes, the judges reached a unanimous decision in favor of Choi Kang Rok.
Upon being announced as the winner, Choi Kang Rok shared his heartfelt thoughts, saying, “I’m not someone who makes extraordinary food. I’m simply someone who does the same work as many hardworking chefs and people who cook for a living. I will keep the words I’ve been given close to my heart, cherish the connections I’ve made here, and continue to think more deeply about food as I move forward.”
Previously eliminated in Season 1, Choi Kang Rok returned to the competition in Season 2 under the title of a “hidden black spoon,” ultimately claiming the championship through perseverance and growth.
