Actor Lee Jae Hoon took home his second Grand Prize (Daesang) for 'Taxi Driver 3' at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards.
The ceremony was held on the afternoon of December 31 at SBS Prism Tower, marking Lee Jae Hoon’s return to the Daesang stage for the first time in two years. Last year’s Grand Prize winner, Jang Na Ra, presented the trophy to this year’s recipient, Lee Jae Hoon.
In his acceptance speech, Lee Jae Hoon carefully acknowledged everyone involved in the project, from the writers to the director—who began as an assistant director in Season 1 and has now helmed Season 3—as well as the cinematography and post-production teams. He made a point of thanking each group individually. However, he did not mention veteran figures such as Lee Soon Jae or Yoon Seok Hwa, both widely regarded as pillars of the acting community.
Two years ago, during his previous Daesang acceptance speech, Lee Jae Hoon faced public backlash after referencing the late Lee Sun Kyun, calling him a role model and stating that he wanted to dedicate the award to him. At the time, public sentiment was divided, as Lee Sun Kyun had been embroiled in allegations and under police investigation, making the mention uncomfortable for many viewers, given his status as a public figure with a family.
This made the moment particularly striking, as Lee Jae Hoon’s award-winning role centered on themes of justice and moral accountability, despite the sharp scrutiny of public opinion. Even so, his continued success through 'Taxi Driver’s third season suggests that many viewers still stand by both the actor and the series. His latest acceptance speech conveyed the weight and responsibility he feels toward his work, focusing solely on gratitude for staff, fans, and fellow actors, without addressing any external controversies.
