Lee Yi Kyung has responded to accusations of indirectly targeting Yoo Jae Suk at 'AAA 2025' after his award acceptance speech stirred discussion online.
A representative from Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyeong ENT, told Ilgan Sports on December 7 KST, “He was not taking aim at Yoo Jae Suk,” adding, “The acceptance speech is exactly as it was. We hope people will take it at face value.”
On December 6, Lee Yi Kyung won the AAA Best Choice Award at the ‘Asia Artist Awards 2025,’ held at the National Stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. During his speech, he said, “‘SNL Korea,’ are you watching? I will now rest on Thursdays,” directly addressing his departure from MBC’s ‘Hangout with Yoo.’ He followed with, “HaHa hyung, [Joo] Woo Jae hyung, I miss you. Thank you,” referring to the colleagues he worked with on ‘Hangout with Yoo.’
Afterward, some online users speculated that Lee Yi Kyung had indirectly targeted Yoo Jae Suk because he did not mention his name among the ‘Hangout with Yoo’ cast. Online communities and social media quickly filled with differing interpretations based on the two stars’ variety show moments and past comments. However, with these latest claims, Lee Yi Kyung has dismissed the rumors, offering clarification through his agency.
