Musician Jung Jae Hyung has issued a statement regarding his alleged connection to Park Na Rae and the so-called “injection aunt.”
On December 10 KST, Jung Jae Hyung’s agency stated, “We are releasing this official position to correct stories that have been distorted into untruths. To prevent further misunderstanding regarding the currently disputed variety show episode, we clearly state that Jung Jae Hyung has no connection whatsoever to the matter. He has no personal ties to 'A', nor has he ever met her.”
Earlier that morning, suspicions circulated that Jung Jae Hyung might be connected to the “injection aunt” mentioned in Park Na Rae’s controversy. The speculation stemmed from a video on MBC’s official YouTube channel titled, “After 8 hours of making kimchi, Park Na Rae and Jung Jae Hyung book IV drips,” taken from a December 13, 2024 broadcast.
In the episode, after completing kimchi-making, Jung Jae Hyung told Park Na Rae, “When you book your IV drip tomorrow, I need to get one too.” The comment resurfaced once allegations emerged that Park Na Rae had received IV treatments from an unlicensed acquaintance known as “injection aunt,” prompting MBC to set all videos containing the remark to private.
A previous media report claimed that Park Na Rae had received fatigue-relief IV injections from acquaintance 'B'—referred to as “injection aunt”—inside an officetel or vehicle. Although B asserted she once served as a professor at a medical school in Inner Mongolia, such procedures are illegal in Korea without a valid domestic medical license.
Following an internal review, the Korean Medical Association found that B was not registered as a doctor, and both the Korean Nurses Association and the Korea Licensed Practical Nurses Association confirmed that B was not listed among their members.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare stated it would monitor the progress of the investigation and, if necessary, consider administrative measures. The ministry also emphasized that while unlicensed medical practice is the primary offense, a recipient who knowingly requests or participates in such illegal services may also be punished as an accomplice under the Medical Service Act.
