Singer Sung Si Kyung’s agency has issued another apology for operating an unregistered entertainment company.
On December 10 KST, agency SK Jaewon released an official statement, saying, “We sincerely apologize for causing concern with today’s reports regarding our lack of registration.” The agency explained, “Following the grace period notice issued in September—allowing entertainment companies until December 31 to complete registration—we have been reviewing and following all required procedures without delay.”
They continued, “As a result, we have completed registration as an entertainment management business under Article 26, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry, and officially received the registration certificate on November 27, 2025.”
The statement added, “We will continue to faithfully comply with all regulations and do our best to communicate accurate information to the relevant authorities.”
Previously, SK Jaewon was reported to authorities for operating unregistered as an entertainment management business. At the time, the agency clarified that although the corporation was established in February of 2011 in compliance with existing laws, the obligation to register under the newly enacted Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Act in January of 2014 had not been recognized, resulting in failure to complete the required process.
According to police, the Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station has forwarded Sung Si Kyung’s sister, Ms. Sung, along with agency SK Jaewon, to prosecutors without detention on charges of violating the Act on the Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry.
