Big Bang’s Daesung made a surprise appearance on 'Hometown Report,' drawing attention with his heartfelt participation.
On December 15, Daesung appeared on KBS 1TV’s 'Hometown Report,' where he visited a remote mountain village in Yeongwol County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, alongside Youth Association president Son Heun Su.
Explaining why he chose to appear on the program, Daesung said, “I’m currently active as a trot singer after being an idol. I wanted to receive lots of love from senior citizens, so I came on ‘Hometown Report.’”
During the episode, Daesung and Son Heon Soo rode a mobile general goods truck that travels around the village to serve residents who have difficulty getting around. As Daesung helped carry supplies and assist villagers, the truck’s owner praised him, saying he did a great job. Daesung responded with a laugh, “I’ve done a lot of this kind of helping before.”
After all the prerecorded segments aired, the MCs asked Daesung how he would feel about becoming a regular cast member.
Reacting enthusiastically, Daesung replied, “I had such a great time. The chemistry between Son Heun Su and me was really good, so if I get the chance, I’d love to come back again. I really wanted to appear on ‘Hometown Report.’”
He went on to share his thoughts on his recent career shift, saying, “I spent most of my time promoting only as a Big Bang member, but these days I’ve been receiving a lot of love as a trot singer. It felt meaningful to be able to give something back for that love.”
