The film 'Project Y' (directed by Lee Hwan) has released its main trailer, raising anticipation for its high-stakes crime story led by Jeon Jong Seo and Han So Hee
'Project Y' follows Yoon Mi Sun and Lee Do Kyung, two women who dream of a different tomorrow while living in the heart of a glittering city. Pushed to the brink of life, they decide to steal black money and gold bars, setting off a dangerous chain of events. The main trailer, unveiled by distributor Plus M Entertainment on December 16, immediately grabs attention with its stylish and rhythmic opening.
Against a hip beat and colorful lighting, Mi Sun (Han So Hee) and Do Kyung (Jeon Jong Seo) walk through an underground passage, appearing carefree at first glance. However, the mood quickly shifts with sharp lines such as “How much lower are you going to sink?” and “Isn’t this so we don’t hit rock bottom?” The mocking voice of Seok Gu (Lee Jae Kyoon), saying, “Word is spreading that you ruined yourselves and fell straight into hell,” hints that the two women have already lost everything and are standing at the edge of a cliff.
As the line “We have to survive somehow” follows, the trailer pivots into tense territory, showing Mi Sun and Do Kyung joining forces to steal money from Boss To (Kim Sung Cheol). Scenes of them digging a grave while covered in dirt and fleeing as if being hunted suggest just how deadly the situation has become, with their lives hanging in the balance.
The trailer also introduces a striking lineup of characters who heighten the intrigue: Choi Ga Yeong (Kim Shin Rok), who provocatively remarks, “Looks like you caused a big incident,” the unhinged and menacing Boss To, Bull (Jung Young Joo) who exudes overwhelming presence, the despicable Seok Gu, and Ha Kyung (YooA), whose calm expression adds another layer of mystery. Their appearances raise questions about how these figures will become entangled with Mi Sun and Do Kyung’s desperate plan.
Adding to the suspense are the cryptic line “Is there something more down there?” and the shocked expressions on Mi Sun and Do Kyung’s faces after discovering something unexpected. The copy, “A perfect plan, no regrets,” further fuels anticipation for the intense clashes between the two women fighting to overturn their doomed lives and those chasing them.
'Project Y' is set to hit theaters on January 21st next year.
