AKMU's Suhyun has dropped a double bombshell: the duo is parting ways with YG Entertainment, and they are about to enter an intense 'mental training' camp together.
On December 4, Suhyun appeared as the very first guest on the premiere episode of Jung Seung Hwan's new YouTube channel, 'Comic Room Next to Karaoke'.
During the show, Jung Seung Hwan mentioned, "I heard you are living with Chanhyuk right now and are about to start a training camp soon." Suhyun then surprised everyone by revealing, "Articles actually came out today (the day of filming). Although we still have some time left on our contract, we have decided to terminate our contract with YG".
She went on to explain the details of their upcoming 'boot camp'. "My brother, a trainer coach, and I are going to get a separate dorm and live there for a month," she said. "We won't even be able to look at our phones. The goal is mental restructuring".
When a shocked Jung Seung Hwan asked if they were preparing for the Olympics, Suhyun explained the serious reason behind it: "We need to make a fresh start, and we are about to walk a path where we absolutely must rely on each other. So, we decided to do a proper training camp before that".

Suhyun also shared touching sentiments about her bond with her brother. "He is the only person whose words I listen to," she confessed. "I've never lost anything by listening to him. He thinks about me more deeply than I think about myself".
She opened up about a difficult time in her past, likely referring to her slump. "There was a time when I had no will to do anything. Many people reached out their hands, but no one could pull me out," she recalled. "The person who pulled me out of that pit, saying 'Wake up! Come here,' was my brother. When I came to my senses, I was already out of it".
"It's cheesy to say, but I often think, 'I am enjoying such blessings because I'm his younger sister,'" she added, creating a moving atmosphere. Jung Seung Hwan agreed, praising Chanhyuk as "a friend, but always someone I respect."
Previously, AKMU's father appeared on a YouTube channel last month and revealed that Suhyun had suffered a long slump due to burnout, and that Chanhyuk was the one who helped her stand up again.
