An individual who previously raised allegations linking entertainer Jo Se Ho to an organized crime figure has stated that additional evidence will soon be released. The accuser urged the comedian to acknowledge what they call the truth.
On December 5, the owner of the Instagram account that first circulated the allegations wrote on social media, “Jo Se Ho, you cannot hide the truth with lies,” and claimed that people within certain Gangnam circles already know that Jo Se Ho and a man identified as Mr. Choi are close enough to address each other like brothers. These allegations have not been verified.
The accuser added that entertainers are also human and can encounter various types of people. However, they argued that public figures must set an example and that it does not make sense for Jo Se Ho to describe a relationship of nearly ten years with a known gang member as a simple acquaintance.
The Instagram user also claimed that Mr. Choi earned large sums of money through illegal gambling related laundering and insisted that Jo Se Ho could not possibly be unaware of Choi’s background after knowing him for such a long period. The accuser suggested that Choi would have treated a celebrity friend generously and would not have been modest when it came to giving gifts.
They also mentioned several businesses, identified only as “○○Food”, “○○andP”, and a corporate lending company, and claimed that Jo Se Ho had knowledge of or had visited these companies. In addition, they claimed to possess a photo taken before Jo Se Ho’s marriage that shows Jo drinking with Choi at Choi’s residence in Lotte Signiel where Jo Se Ho’s current wife was allegedly introduced. The accuser stated that if Jo Se Ho continues to deny the relationship, the photo will be released.
Previously, the Instagram account had posted several photos that were said to show Jo Se Ho and Choi together and repeatedly asked Jo Se Ho to explain the nature of their relationship.
Agency Denies Allegations and Announces Possible Legal Action
Jo Se Ho’s agency denied all claims, stating that they were nothing more than the accuser’s personal speculation. The agency declared that the allegations are entirely untrue.
The agency also refuted the claim that Jo Se Ho received money or expensive gifts from Choi, emphasizing that this accusation is based solely on conjecture.
The statement continued with the agency explaining that it is reviewing civil and criminal legal action against the accuser. The agency cited defamation through the spreading of false information and interference with business operations and said it will respond firmly based on a zero-tolerance policy toward the reckless spread of rumors.
Despite the agency’s stance, criticism directed at Jo Se Ho has continued online. As a result, Jo Se Ho eventually closed the comment section on his Instagram account.
