Actor Ju Ji Hoon and Ha Ji Won are joining forces in a new political noir drama.
On November 24, Genie TV unveiled the cast lineup for its original series 'Climax' (written and directed by Lee Ji Won), confirming Ju Ji Hoon, Ha Ji Won, Nana, Cha Joo Young, and Oh Jung Se in leading roles.
'Climax' is a political noir centered on prosecutor Bang Tae Seop, who plunges into an immense cartel while chasing Korea’s highest seat of power. The series unfolds as he navigates a brutal war for survival.
Ju Ji Hoon takes on the role of Bang Tae Seop, a star prosecutor who rises to fame after marrying top actress Chu Sang Ah. Ju Ji Hoon is expected to command the storyline with a blend of charisma and seductive intensity.

Ha Ji Won plays Chu Sang Ah, once celebrated but now a faded actress following her marriage. This marks her return to television nearly four years after the KBS-2TV drama 'Curtain Call,' and she is set to showcase a refreshed charm.
Nana has been cast as Hwang Jung Won, a covert informant working closely beside Bang Tae Seop. With a sharp emotional range, she will portray a character holding key secrets to the cartel.
Cha Joo Young plays Lee Yang Mi, the second wife of the chairman of WR Group, Korea’s third-largest conglomerate. She is expected to heighten the drama’s tension through a striking transformation.

Oh Jung Se appears as Kwon Jong Wook, the eldest son of the WR Group chairman. His character embodies fierce ambition and obsession as he vies for the successor’s position, promising a weighty performance that will define the drama’s peak moments.
The production team shared, “Director Lee Ji Won, known for meticulous mise-en-scène and exceptional storytelling, joins forces with a lineup of powerful actors. The intertwined desires and choices of each character will deliver an intense narrative.”
'Climax' is slated for release next year on Genie TV and will also air as ENA’s Monday–Tuesday drama.
