BTOB’s Changsub, MAMAMOO’s Solar, and MONSTA X’s Hyungwon are heading to Canada in search of the aurora.
SBS’s new global web variety show 'K-POP AURORA HUNTERS' will premiere worldwide on November 20 at 7 PM through the SBS KPOP official YouTube channel.
The show features three K-pop stars— Changsub, Solar, and Hyungwon—who take on the roles of secret agents traveling across western Canada on a mission to find the “missing traces of the northern lights” in this unique fake-reality adventure series.
Answering a mysterious call from an organization symbolized by a lightning bolt—nicknamed “NASA”—the three agents gather at Incheon Airport before setting out under the command of their eccentric leader, the “offbeat director.” Their journey takes them from Calgary through the Rocky Mountains and up to the Arctic Circle, as they explore iconic sites across northwestern Canada. Despite unpredictable weather and unexpected mishaps, their chaotic yet cheerful adventures promise to deliver fresh humor and energy in a new kind of travel reality format.
Producer Lee Ji Won of SBS, who planned the show, explained, “We combined the charm of travel reality with the unique storytelling style of web variety shows to create something new and entertaining. Viewers can look forward to the fun chemistry that unfolds as these three global artists navigate a foreign land together.”

During their travels, Changsub and Solar showcase a playful friend vibe with perfect teamwork, while the youngest member, Hyungwon, surprises with his hidden comedic side—completing the trio of “aurora hunters” bursting with variety show charm. The third-generation idols will reveal their down-to-earth personalities in a blend of real and scripted moments, offering viewers both laughter and relatability.
'K-POP AURORA HUNTERS' will release new episodes every Thursday at 7 PM on the SBS KPOP YouTube channel.
