Fans of 2PM’s Junho (Lee Jun Ho) are voicing growing dissatisfaction over his inactivity on the paid fan communication platform Bubble, where his updates have reportedly been absent for more than a month. Critics argue that such negligence undermines the trust of paying fans, while others defend the actor, citing his busy schedule and commitment to offline interactions.
Bubble is a subscription-based service that allows direct communication between celebrities and their fans, charging approximately 4,500 KRW (about 3.13 USD) per month. Many younger actors, such as Moon Sang Min and Kim Jae Won, engage with fans almost daily, sharing snippets of their daily lives. Even senior actors like Lee Dong Wook Lee Jong Suk, and Lee Sang Yi maintain regular contact through the app.
In contrast, Lee Jun Ho has posted sparingly since late August, with only one message reportedly sent on October 18. Frustrated fans have expressed disappointment, saying he has failed to show even “basic courtesy” to those paying for the service. Comments such as “It’s not that hard to leave a sentence or two even on a busy day” and “The longer the career, the less the communication” have circulated among fan communities.
One fan remarked, “It wasn’t like this during ‘King the Land.’ Things have changed drastically. 4,500 KRW (about 3.13 USD) may seem small, but it’s still money. If fans are paying for communication, he should take it seriously.” Another added, “If it’s a paid service, there should be a minimum level of interaction.”
Lee Jun Ho is currently starring in tvN’s new drama 'Typhoon Family,' which premiered on October 11. While his performance has received praise for its depth and passion, fans note a stark contrast between his on-screen dedication and off-screen silence. Unlike many actors and idols who actively engage in social media promotions during new releases, Lee has remained inactive on Bubble even after the drama’s launch, which has intensified fans’ disappointment.
Beyond frustration, many fans have begun to question the responsibility that comes with operating a paid communication channel. Industry insiders have also weighed in, saying, “If it’s a subscription-based service, consistent communication is essential,” and “When fans pay and wait, the artist’s interaction becomes almost a contractual duty.”
However, others defend Lee Jun Ho. Some argue that “actors deserve personal space and rest,” and that “his absence from Bubble shouldn’t automatically lead to criticism.” One supporter commented, “Considering his packed schedule, maintaining regular contact might not be easy. He still treats fans well in other ways.”
Another fan added, “Given how easily one wrong word on a paid platform can spark controversy these days, he might simply be being cautious,” emphasizing that “communication is a choice, not an obligation.”
Ultimately, Bubble remains a voluntary medium where the frequency of communication varies depending on personal style and circumstances. Some fans insist that genuine affection is reflected not through the number of messages but through the artist’s sincerity and artistic output. As one fan summarized, “Lee Jun Ho expresses his love through his work. He has always cared deeply for his fans, so maybe we just need to be patient.”
