Singer Lee Hyori receives a one-of-a-kind handmade yoga block from a student at her yoga studio
A heartwarming story from singer Lee Hyori’s yoga studio has caught the public’s attention after a member gifted her a unique, handmade yoga block.
On October 21, Lee Hyori’s yoga studio ‘Ananda Yoga’ shared student feedback from recent classes on its official social media account. Among them, one student’s post stood out — they had presented Lee Hyori with a custom-made yoga block crafted by the student’s husband.
The student wrote, “When I said I was taking a class with Ananda teacher, my husband made a yoga block out of walnut wood as a gift for her. It’s one of a kind in the world. Because it’s solid wood, it’s heavy like a brick, so it’s not a yoga block, it’s a yoga brick. Hyori teacher said it feels more like a wooden pillow,” drawing smiles from readers.
Previously, shortly after opening her yoga studio, Lee Hyori posted a message politely asking fans to refrain from sending more gifts, saying, “I sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness, but I’ll only accept your warm wishes. I want to keep the studio space open for more people to practice.”

Lee Hyori opened ‘Ananda Yoga’ last September in Yeonhui-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. The yoga classes, personally led by Lee Hyori, operate on a reservation basis. Her one-day classes in September sold out immediately upon opening, reflecting high demand.
Starting in October, she introduced a regular membership system, teaching two one-hour sessions each morning — from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori, who married musician Lee Sang Soon in 2013, lived in Jeju Island for several years before relocating to Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul, last year.
