82MAJOR claimed the gold medal in the men’s ssireum (traditional Korean wrestling) event at the '2025 Chuseok Special: Idol Star Athletics Championships' (ISAC).
In the broadcast aired on October 7, the final match drew major attention as 82MAJOR faced off against AMPERS&ONE. Before the match began, AMPERS&ONE confidently declared, “Seniors, we’ll finish this 8282,” while 82MAJOR responded, “We’ll show you just how bright this gym’s lights are when you’re lying on the floor.”
The tension heightened as each team sent out its ace for the first round. Cho Sungil of 82MAJOR went up against Mackiah of AMPERS&ONE and immediately showcased a perfect blend of power and technique, quickly securing the victory. Commentator Lee Tae Hyun praised his performance, saying, “He has an excellent understanding of ssireum techniques. The charm of the baejigi move was well displayed.”
Next came the match between 82MAJOR’s Kim Dogyun and AMPERS&ONE’s Choi Jiho. Just like the first round, Kim ended the match in an instant, leading 82MAJOR to a 2–0 victory and earning the team the championship title.
After their win, 82MAJOR expressed their gratitude to fans, saying, “Thank you to everyone who supported us.” They also added, “We are deeply thankful to Coach Lee Tae Hyun for teaching us these techniques.”
