Comedian Kim Young Chul opened up about his experience taking an adult ADHD test.
On October 5, the YouTube channel 'Psick University' released a new episode of Psick Show titled “Asking Kim Young Chul if We Should Give Him New Year’s Money for Chuseok,” featuring Kim Young Chul as a guest.
During the episode, Kim joked, “Whenever you guys say something, I feel like I have to sing,” to which host Kim Min Soo replied, “Do you have adult ADHD or something?”
Kim responded, “That actually reminds me of a really funny story about adult ADHD — give me two minutes to tell it.”
He explained, “There’s a psychiatrist named Oh Jin Seung, famous from 'Doctor Friends'. When he appeared on 'Knowing Bros', he talked about ADHD and said it’s quite common, so people shouldn’t worry and should just get checked if they’re curious. So everyone told me to go, and I actually went to the hospital and took a two-hour test.”

Kim continued, “When I asked the doctor, ‘So, do I have ADHD?’, he said, ‘Surprisingly, you don’t. But do you perhaps have obsessive tendencies?’ I said yes, and the doctor told me, ‘If you had ADHD, you would have given up instead of trying to solve problems. The fact that you’ve studied English for over 20 years shows your persistence.’”
He added, “I almost cried when I heard that. But the doctor reassured me that obsessive traits aren’t necessarily bad — everyone has them to some degree. As long as you recognize and manage them, it’s fine. So now I actually like my obsessive side.”
