A new Korean drama is generating massive buzz with just a 30-second trailer ahead of its premiere.
tvN's 'Nice to Not Meet You' is set to dominate the small screen later this year and is generating huge buzz with the release of its first teaser. Even before its official air date, the drama has been at the center of attention with a star-studded cast lineup.
Starring global sensation Lee Jung Jae, the first trailer revealed his character's backstory in 30 seconds. The teaser shows a fierce fight scene where Im Hyun Joon (played by Lee Jung Jae) gets beaten up. He trades punches with his enemies, starting the scene with an intense line, "You don't fix people. But I'm going to fix myself."
The scene then shifts, and Im Hyun Joon is seen stroking a child's head, saying, "I'll protect you," giving the child a warm gaze.
'Nice to Not Meet you' is tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama. It follows the story of a popular actor who has lost his original passion and an elite journalist who has lost her position as they overcome their prejudices and change for the better.
The drama is written by Jung Yeo Rang, the writer of 'Doctor Cha.' Lee Jung Jae plays Im Hyun Joon, a veteran actor who specializes in crime roles and dreams of becoming a lead actor in a romance project. Lim Ji Yeon plays Wi Jung Shin, a journalist who loses her position after getting caught up in a massive corruption scandal. The two are expected to deliver a hilarious and heart-fluttering romantic comedy that starts with a prickly, fateful encounter.
The show also features Kim Ji Hoon as Lee Jae Hyung, a former baseball player and the CEO of the sports newspaper 'Sports Eunseong.' Lee Jae Hyung is kind to everyone but a devoted romantic who only pursues one woman. He is set to transform after meeting with Wi Jung Shin. Seo Ji Hye plays Yoon Hwa Young, the youngest-ever head of the entertainment news department at Sports Eunseong. Hwa Young is the only person who can completely overpower Wi Jung Shin with her sharp wit, and she's also Lee Jae Hyung's ex-girlfriend.
Lee Jung Jae's return is especially noteworthy as it's his first project since the global phenomenon 'Squid Game' series. This is his first small-screen comeback in four years since the 2021 SBS drama 'Delayed Justice.'
Im Ji Yeon, who will have a love line with Lee Jung Jae, is once again proving her acting range after the Netflix series 'The Glory' and the JTBC drama 'The Tale of Lady Ok.' She will portray Wi Jung Shin's chaotic journey of adapting to her new role in the entertainment department. Wi Jung Shin was formerly an ace political reporter who won the youngest journalist award.
In addition to the main cast, the drama features a stellar lineup of supporting actors whose names alone inspire confidence, including Choi Gwi Hwa, Jeon Sung Woo, Kim Jae Chul, Na Young Hee, Jeon Soo Kyung, Kim Hyun Jin, Jin Ho Eun, Kim Beop Rae, and Jo Hee Bong, with a special appearance by Oh Yeon Seo.
