Actress Lee Young Ae expressed her concerns over drinking scenes in the variety show Zzanbro, worried that her children might watch and be influenced.
On September 1, the production team of Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup released a teaser for next week’s episode, featuring Lee Young Ae, Park Yong Woo, and Kim Young Kwang.
Lee Young Ae, known for her extensive career as an advertising model, revealed on the show that she had even been the first female model for soju. Host Shin Dong Yup jokingly commented, “I heard you spent the day using all the products from the brands you advertised,” to which Lee Young Ae replied with a smile, “Yes, I was the first female soju model.”
Despite the lighthearted banter, Lee Young Ae voiced a more serious concern about her drinking scenes being seen by her twin children. “What if they watch me and say, ‘Should I try drinking too?’” she wondered. Shin Dong Yup quipped in response, “If that’s the case, our kids should already be in juvenile detention,” drawing laughter from the audience and Lee Young Ae herself.
However, she emphasized the importance of responsible messaging, stating, “There should be a caption at the bottom of the screen saying, ‘Teenagers should not drink or overconsume alcohol.’”
Off-screen, Lee Young Ae has been married since 2009 to businessman Jeong Ho Young, who is 20 years her senior, and they have twin children together. She is set to appear in the KBS2 drama 'Walking on Thin Ice,' which premieres on September 20.
