Kim Jong Kook has ended his professional relationship with his longtime manager, Kim Gap Jin, after 18 years.
According to TenAsia on September 10, Kim Jong Kook and Kim Gap Jin, director at TURBOJK Company, have concluded their long-standing collaboration. Kim has managed Kim Jong Kook since 2008, forming a close and enduring professional bond over nearly two decades.
Kim Gap Jin gained public recognition through multiple appearances on SBS shows such as 'Family Outing' and 'My Little Old Boy,' becoming a familiar figure as part of the "celebrity plus non-celebrity" lineup. He also demonstrated his dedication to the artist by personally producing content for Kim Jong Kook’s YouTube channel rather than outsourcing it. Earlier this year, Kim Gap Jin left TURBOJK Company and is now serving as the head of the entertainment division at K-TIGERS, which represents artists including RAINBOW18, Kim Tae Yeon, Min, and Juniel.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Kook himself left TURBOJK Company, which he founded in 2012, and recently signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, joining the same agency as singer G-Dragon and actor Song Kang Ho. Following Kim Gap Jin’s departure, Kim Jong Kook reportedly moved to the new agency with only his on-site manager. He is currently preparing for his 30th-anniversary album and upcoming concerts under the new management.
In a personal milestone, Kim Jong Kook married his non-celebrity girlfriend on September 5 in Seoul. The wedding was held privately with only close family and friends, and the ceremony was officiated by his longtime friend Yoo Jae Suk.
