82MAJOR, known as the first idol group to receive outside investment from SM Entertainment, have signed a management deal with leading Japanese entertainment powerhouse Horipro.
Home to top stars like Satoshi Tsumabuki, Kyoko Fukada, Ryohei Suzuki, and Ryoma Takeuchi, Horipro will oversee the group’s activities in Japan. The company, founded in 1960, shared its commitment to fully supporting 82MAJOR in quickly establishing themselves as a major K-pop act in the local market.
Earlier this year, 82MAJOR’s agency Great M Entertainment became the first external investment partner under SM’s SM 3.0 strategy, with SM acquiring shares and becoming the company’s second-largest shareholder.
With support from both SM and Horipro, 82MAJOR continue to strengthen their presence as one of the rising 5th-generation groups.
After scoring double hits with “Stuck” and “TAKEOVER,” the group is now preparing for an October comeback, with fans curious to see what will come next.
