Kim Jong Kook tied the knot with a non-celebrity woman on September 5 in a private wedding ceremony in Seoul, attended only by family, relatives, and close friends. Longtime friend and popular television host Yoo Jae Suk served as the master of ceremonies.
No details about the bride have been disclosed, other than her non-celebrity status.
He had announced his marriage on August 18 through a handwritten letter posted on his fan cafe. In the note, he wrote, “I always wondered if a day would come when I’d write such a post. Preparing this letter is more nerve-wracking than I imagined. I’m getting married.”
Kim added, “This year marks my 30th anniversary since debut, but instead of making an album, I made my other half. I hope everyone will celebrate and support us. I will continue to work hard and live diligently.”
Earlier, in May, Kim Jong Kook sparked marriage rumors after purchasing a 243㎡ apartment in Nonhyeon Apelbaum 2nd Complex, Gangnam District, Seoul, for 6.2 billion KRW (about $4.65 million).
Kim Jong Kook debuted in 1995 as a member of Turbo, releasing hits such as "December" and "White Love (At the Ski Park)," and has been active as a solo singer since 2001.
