The hit track "Golden," the representative song of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' has held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for six straight weeks. Counting non-consecutive weeks, it has now reached seven weeks at the top.
Billboard, recognized as the leading global music chart, reported in its latest preview article that "Golden," from the Netflix animated series 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' secured its 6th consecutive week at No. 1 on the Hot 100.
Already rewriting history as an animation OST, "Golden" is now aiming to break records across all original soundtracks, including live-action films.
The current Hot 100 record-holder for most weeks at No. 1 with an OST is Whitney Houston’s "I'll Always Love You," the theme song for the 1992 film 'The Bodyguard,' which reigned for 14 consecutive weeks.
With no signs of slowing down, industry insiders predict that the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" phenomenon could keep "Golden" at the top through the end of the year. The song is also eyeing the title of longest-running No. 1 of the year.
Within K-pop, the record for most Hot 100 No. 1s is currently held by BTS, who achieved 10 non-consecutive weeks at the top with "Butter." With its momentum, "Golden" is now closing in on breaking that mark as well.
