Entertainment tech company GBK Entertainment (led by CEOs Kim Ki Bong and Seol Dong Wook) has officially filed a patent (application number 10-2025-0082860) for its new “AI-based idol training and selection system.”
The system, built on advanced AI training technology proven through GBK’s flagship platform Girls Universe, is being described as a breakthrough that addresses long-standing challenges in the K-pop industry, such as fairness, efficiency, and scalability.
At its core, the patent combines an “AI dance/vocal trainer” with an “AI mental management system,” creating an all-in-one platform. Trainees can receive real-time, personalized training and instant feedback anytime, anywhere, while also having structured management in dance, vocals, mental health, and psychological counseling.
By using cutting-edge tools such as motion recognition and voice analysis, the platform ensures fair evaluations based on precise, individual growth data.
The Girls Universe platform has already proven its diversity and accessibility by engaging global trainees and fans, and the introduction of AI trainers aims to overcome industry barriers such as population decline, lack of transparency, and monopolization. This makes it possible for small agencies and overseas trainees alike to pursue their dreams under equal conditions, what GBK calls a “global classroom” for K-pop.
A GBK Entertainment representative stated, “This patent is not just about technological advancement but symbolizes a platform innovation that enhances fairness, inclusivity, and creativity in the entertainment industry. Through Girls Universe, we will continue to shape a future where anyone, anywhere, can grow in K-pop based on data-driven progress.”
