After experiencing a series of controversies and cast changes, MBC’s variety program 'I Live Alone' has returned to viewers with a renewed sense of purpose in the new year.
On December 31, the official social media accounts of 'I Live Alone' released a group photo featuring Jun Hyun Moo, Code Kunst, Minho, Ok Ja Yeon, Park Ji Hyun, and Kian84. In the photo, the Rainbow Club members smile brightly while holding sketchbooks that together convey the message “Makes a fresh start,” along with a heart symbol, offering a warm New Year’s greeting for 2026.
The post drew particular attention as it marked the first official group image released following recent controversies surrounding the program. It also represented the first public appearance of the remaining cast members after Park Na Rae and SHINee’s Key exited the show. Despite the absence of core members, the image conveyed the cast’s determination to continue the program and move forward together.
Previously, 'I Live Alone' faced mounting criticism and scrutiny related to its cast, beginning with Park Na Rae’s so-called “drunken aunt” controversy. During this period, main MC Jun Hyun Moo addressed the situation at the '2025 MBC Entertainment Awards,' where he bowed his head in apology on behalf of the program. His remark that he would accept the award as a reminder to do better going forward left a strong impression on viewers.
The production team has since entered a period of restructuring. 'I Live Alone' will take a brief break from broadcasting this week before returning on January 9 with a bazaar-themed episode featuring the Rainbow Club members together.
After weathering significant public scrutiny and major cast changes, 'I Live Alone' has declared a fresh start. Attention is now focused on whether the program can reclaim its familiar Friday night presence and how its new beginning project will unfold in the weeks ahead.
