Speculation over a major spoiler has erupted surrounding Culinary Class Wars: Cooking Class Battle Season 2 (hereafter Culinary Class Wars 2), with claims that a finalist may have already been revealed.
Following the release of episode 9 on December 30, online communities began circulating analyses suggesting that Black Spoon contestant “Cooking Monster” has advanced to the finals. The suspicion arose after viewers noticed that an interview clip revealed the contestant’s real name, Lee Ha Seong, rather than his nickname.
In Culinary Class Wars 2, Black Spoon contestants are only allowed to reveal their real names if they advance to the final round. This detail led many viewers to believe that Cooking Monster had already secured a spot in the finals, possibly due to an editing oversight that included footage filmed after the finalists were confirmed.
Episodes 8 through 10, released on December 30, narrowed the competition down to the Top 7, with episode 10 ending just before the announcement of the final entrant. White Spoon chefs Lim Sung Geun, Hudukjuk, Jung Ho Young, Choi Kang Rok, and Sunjae Monk, along with Black Spoon contestant “Yoon Jumo Who Brews Liquor,” have already advanced. The final remaining spot is set to be decided by a head-to-head battle between White Spoon’s Son Jong Won and Black Spoon’s Cooking Monster.
The speculation has been further fueled by precedent from season 1, when contestant “Napoli Mafia” competed under a nickname throughout the show and appeared with his real name, Kwon Sung Joon, only after advancing to the finals.
As debate continues, viewers are also speculating about Cooking Monster’s potential final opponent, with White Spoon contestant Choi Kang Rok emerging as the strongest candidate. However, some fans argue that the reveal could be an intentional misdirection by the production team.
Culinary Class Wars 2 premiered on December 16 and has released 10 episodes so far. Episodes 11 and 12 are scheduled for January 6, 2026, followed by the final episode on January 13.
Meanwhile, Baek Jong Won, who had been on a brief hiatus from television appearances, has joined the lineup for season 2.
