Actor Byeon Woo Seok has welcomed the new year with a meaningful act of generosity.
On January 1, international development and cooperation NGO G Foundation announced that Byeon Woo Seok donated 100 million KRW (about 70,000 USD) to support vulnerable girls and adolescents in South Korea. The donation will be used to provide menstrual care kits, including sanitary pads, heat packs, and feminine hygiene products, as well as to support sex education programs and the renovation of hygiene facilities such as restrooms.
“I decided to take part in this donation in the hope that young girls will not have to struggle due to a lack of sanitary products or inadequate facilities,” Byeon Woo Seok said. He added, “I hope they can be guaranteed full menstrual rights and continue their daily lives in a more comfortable and stable environment.”
A representative from G Foundation expressed gratitude, saying, “We sincerely thank actor Byeon Woo Seok for practicing warm-hearted generosity. We promise to responsibly support young girls so they can continue to protect their basic rights.”
Meanwhile, Byeon Woo Seok is set to appear in the upcoming drama 'Perfect Crown,' where he plays Prince Yi An, the son of a king who, despite his royal status, is unable to possess anything.
