MODEN BERRY KOREA announced that it will take legal action in response to malicious comments and the spread of false information targeting former AOA member Kwon Mina.
On January 1, the agency stated, “Recently, malicious slander, personal attacks, and the circulation of false information about Kwon Mina have continued across social media platforms. We consider these acts to be clear violations of the law and are currently collecting relevant evidence. We will proceed with strong legal action without leniency.”
The agency also clarified its current relationship with the artist, saying, “Although Kwon Mina’s exclusive contract with us has been terminated, this was resolved amicably through mutual agreement, and we continue to maintain a good relationship.” It added, “While the exclusive contract has ended, our company is still handling management duties related to Kwon Mina’s schedules and activities.”
Earlier the same day, Kwon Mina posted on social media that she had been rescued after an attempted extreme act, writing that she experienced difficulty breathing and blurred vision. She further caused concern by implying another such attempt, stating that she would keep her promise to disappear from public view. The post has since been deleted.
Kwon Mina debuted as a member of AOA in July 2012 and left the group in 2019. In November of last year, she signed an exclusive contract with MODEN BERRY KOREA, signaling a fresh start, but recently announced the termination of that contract.
