Actress Song Ji Hyo was moved to tears after listening to the heartfelt acceptance speech delivered by Down syndrome artist Jung Eun Hye and her husband Jo Young Nam at the '2025 SBS Entertainment Awards.'
The awards ceremony was held on the afternoon of December 30 at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam, Mapo District, Seoul, with Jun Hyun Moo, Cha Tae Hyun, and Lee Soo Ji serving as MCs.
During the event, Jung Eun Hye and Jo Young Nam, who appeared on ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny’ and shared their sincere married life with viewers, were honored with the Good Influence Award. The award is presented to individuals who inspire society by highlighting the value of love and the meaning of life.
In her acceptance speech, Jung Eun Hye said, “I was grateful that through ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny,' we were able to show that people with developmental disabilities can also have married lives. My husband and I will continue to work, love each other, and live energetically until we’re 100. Thank you to my mom and dad for raising me so well.”
She also revealed that she recently completed a legal name change after receiving court approval, adopting her stepfather’s surname and officially becoming Seo Eun Hye.
Jo Young Nam added briefly, “The two of us will live happily together for the rest of our lives. Wishing everyone a happy new year.”
As the couple delivered their remarks, Song Ji Hyo, who was watching from the audience, appeared visibly emotional. Jung Eun Hye, a caricature artist and actress with Down syndrome, gained public recognition for her role as Lee Young Hee in the tvN drama ‘Our Blues.' She met Jo Young Nam through a public employment program for people with developmental disabilities, and after dating for a year, the couple tied the knot in May.
