F.T. Island’s vocalist Lee Hongki has issued an apology after canceling his scheduled appearance at Dongguk University’s festival.
On September 26, Hongki shared a statement on social media explaining the circumstances behind his absence. “I developed symptoms similar to a vocal cord rupture, making it unavoidable for me to miss today’s stage,” he wrote.
He added a heartfelt apology to the students, saying, “I am sorry for leaving a scar on what should have been a precious and memorable time. I will make it up to you.”
Earlier, Dongguk University’s student council confirmed that they had received notice from F.T. Island’s management regarding the same-day cancellation of the performance.
Meanwhile, Hongki is set to appear in the upcoming musical 'Sugar,' which opens on December 12. He will play “Joe,” a saxophonist who disguises himself as a woman in order to survive.
