Broadcaster Yoon Jung Soo has officially tied the knot with his longtime acquaintance, Won Jahyun, a former sports reporter once dubbed the “Gwangzhou Goddess.”
Last month, Yoon made headlines when he revealed plans to marry a Pilates instructor 12 years his junior. He later confirmed through his YouTube channel that the couple had registered their marriage, becoming husband and wife under the law. Their wedding ceremony is scheduled for late November at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul.
According to YTN Star, Yoon’s wife is none other than freelancer broadcaster Won Jahyun. She began her career as a reporter for KBS, served as a global weather jockey for Weathernews, and worked as a traffic newscaster. In 2010, she rose to prominence as a sports reporter for MBC, earning the nickname “Gwangzhou Goddess” during the Asian Games.
Won further showcased her hosting abilities on programs including 'I Love Sports (MBC),' 'M16 (XTM),' 'Won Jahyun’s Morning Show (Sonbadak TV),' and 'Won Jahyun’s Bundesliga Show (The M),' establishing herself as a versatile and reliable MC.
Transitioning into fitness, Won became a model and earned second place in both the Model Women’s Short and Ms. Bikini categories at the '2015 Musclemania Fitness World Championships preliminaries.' Since 2017, she has been pursuing a career as a Pilates instructor.
Yoon shared on a broadcast that he and Won had known each other for over a decade, but grew close in the past four to five months. The couple will also appear together on TV Chosun’s reality program 'Chosun’s Real Romantic,' where more details of their love story will be unveiled.
