BLACKPINK’s Rosé revealed the original demo of her song "APT" on 'The Howard Stern Show.'

On September 22, Rosé appeared on a U.S. radio program, and while discussing her collaboration with Bruno Mars on "APT," she took out her phone and played the original demo version herself.

'The Howard Stern Show' is a talk show that has led the U.S. radio broadcasting scene for over 30 years.

Surprise Release of "APT 1.0"… A Different Charm from the Final Version

The demo version Rosé shared had a different vibe from the officially released track. She explained, "This is without Bruno... It's 1.0." The version sung solely by Rosé featured different lyrics from the final release.

In the demo, Rosé sang, "I'll be in the room in 17. Pick me from your favorite dream. We've been talking 7 days a week. But you can't hold my body through a screen." The lyrics continued, "So you should leave your friends at the bar. The night's still young, I've got what you need. You can go and call yourself a car. Don't tell anyone you'll find me at the APT."

After listening to the demo, Howard Stern responded positively, saying, "It sounds really good."

Immediately following the demo reveal, social media exploded with fans sharing the audio from Rosé’s phone and demanding an official release of the original version. On YouTube, comments flooded in asking, "Please release APT 1.0 officially." One fan commented, "I actually like this version better. We need a Rosé solo version," while another expressed, "I hope she releases this version because it sounds so good." Other fans commented, "We need APT 1.0," and "Release it as APT Rose’s Version."

During the interview, Rosé also shared how APT came to be. She recalled, "BLACKPINK decided to take a year to do what we each wanted to. I flew to the U.S. for sessions. We were at the studio past midnight while eating McDonald's."

She added, "I was teaching the boys Korean drinking games. They were so obsessed with it. They would chant 'APT, APT.' And they kept doing it all night. So as a joke, we said, 'Let’s make a song out of this.' and we recorded it."

Regarding Bruno Mars, Rosé praised him highly, saying, "I wouldn’t have trusted this song as much without him. He understood the song and knew exactly what to do. Collaborating with him felt like a dream movie."

Since its release in October last year, "APT" has achieved global success, including nominations in seven categories at the MTV Video Music Awards and winning Song of the Year.
