Singer Psy has admitted to receiving prescription psychotropic drugs through his manager, issuing a speedy apology statement through his label.
Earlier on August 27 KST, it was reported that a popular singer was under investigation by police for receiving prescription psychotropic drugs from a medical practitioner without an examination and through a proxy, his manager. Additional sources revealed that Psy has been prescribed an antianxiety drug and sleeping pills since 2022.
In response to the reports, Psy's label P Nation stated, "It was undoubtedly a mistake caused by negligence to receive prescription medication through a proxy. The artist sincerely apologizes for this matter."
The label then added on, "Psy has been diagnosed with chronic sleep disorder and has been prescribed sleeping pills, which he has regularly taken at the dosage advised by the medical expert. The medication was not prescribed to any other individual. There were instances when a proxy picked up the prescriptions, and it's true that the police are investigating these instances."
