Park Myung Soo has lightheartedly declared that he will not attend singer Kim Jong Kook’s upcoming wedding because he hasn’t received an invitation.
On the August 26 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s 'Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show,' Park Myung Soo hosted the 'Mobal Mobal Quiz Show' segment alongside Kim Tae Jin. During the show, a listener sent in a playful message pretending to be Kim Jong Kook. The listener wrote, "Hello, this is Kim Jong Kook. I’m getting married. I couldn’t tell you directly, so I’m letting you know here. Please give me a call."
Park Myung Soo responded, "I talk to Jong Kook maybe once or twice a year. When we meet, we’re close." Kim Tae Jin then mentioned, "He recently announced his wedding." The listener continued the joke in the message, "Myung Soo Hyung, I'm getting married on September 5. Please come and sing a congratulatory song." After hearing the wedding date, Park Myung Soo became surprised and remarked, "Is September 5 right? Why is he getting married so fast?"
Park Myung Soo continued to reveal, "He hasn't contacted me yet. I won't attend (the wedding) if Kim Jong Kook doesn't contact me first." When fellow host Kim Tae Jin asked, "Are you openly asking for an invitation publicly?" Park Myung Soo responded, "I really didn't receive any contact. If he contacts me, I'll let everyone know," and added, "There's not much time left until the wedding, but he hasn't reached out. I'm not joking."
Park Myung Soo once again commented, "If he doesn't contact me, I won't be attending," before selecting Kim Jong Kook's "One Man" to be played.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Kook is set to marry his non-celebrity fiancée on September 5 in Seoul, in a private ceremony with only family and close friends. The singer even kept the news secret from his 'Running Man' castmates until just before the official announcement, leaving them stunned.
