The first episode of SBS’s new variety program ‘Island Village Hero,’ which aired on the 26th, showed Lim Young Woong heading to Somodo Island with his close friends Gwedo and Lim Tae Hoon. Arriving early in the morning at Wando Port, the three received a hand-drawn map from the production team and began their ‘plan-free island life.’

On the boat, Lim Young Woong recalled his early days as a singer: “I remember performing often at cruise events back when I was unknown.” Upon arriving on the island, he climbed steep hills and endless stairs before reaching a house overlooking the ocean, marveling, “The view is breathtaking.”

Although the production staff warned that Somodo had no supermarket, convenience store, or restaurant, the three expressed excitement about their new freedom.

‘Island Village Hero’ follows Lim Young Woong and his friends as they leave behind the glamorous city to enjoy an eco-friendly, healing lifestyle in a small island village. The four-part reality series airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on SBS and had already garnered strong anticipation before its premiere.
Meanwhile, Lim Young Woong will also continue his activities as a singer, releasing his second full-length album ‘IM HERO 2’ on August 29 at 6 p.m.
