Actress Lee Si Young has stirred strong public reaction after revealing that she completed a 200-kilometer motorcycle tour while seven months pregnant.
On August 1st, Lee posted several photos and videos on Instagram with the caption, "I finally did a 200km Long Island tour." The images show her smiling in front of a motorcycle and enjoying the open-road adventure.
In the caption, Lee shared, "It was my first long-distance tour, so I was nervous. It even rained, and my jeans got completely soaked. I debated whether to stop, but I’m so glad I decided to finish." She continued, "The weather cleared up, and I completed the 200km tour across mountains, rivers, and the sea."
She also thanked her fellow riders, saying, "I was looking forward to chatting during the ride, but apparently that’s not a thing in the U.S. Still, it was great."
Reflecting on the experience, Lee said, "I never imagined doing a 200km ride while seven months pregnant, but prenatal bonding through riding a Harley feels amazing." She added, "I haven’t bought a single baby item yet. I guess I should start shopping once I get back to Korea."
The post comes just a month after Lee publicly shared news of her second pregnancy, only four months after finalizing her divorce. At the time, she explained that the pregnancy resulted from an embryo she had prepared during her marriage. "The other party didn’t agree with the decision, but I’m prepared to take full responsibility. Despite everything, I want to believe this is the most meaningful choice I could make," she said.
Her ex-husband also commented via Dispatch, saying, "At first, I was against the pregnancy, but now that the child is on the way, I intend to fulfill my role as a father."
Despite the personal nature of her decision, many Korean netizens have expressed concern and criticism over Lee Si Young’s choice to ride a motorcycle during late-stage pregnancy.
Some of the top comments online include:
"As a mother myself, I find this incredibly selfish. She already made a controversial decision with the pregnancy. Couldn’t she at least avoid risky activities until the baby is born?"
"Even if we accept that she rode safely, why post it on Instagram? To look cool and fearless while pregnant? She knew it would be picked up by the media and spark backlash."
"She’s seven months along and riding a motorcycle? That’s not just dangerous. It’s reckless."
Lee Si Young’s pregnancy-stage motorcycle tour has ignited a striking conversation about personal choice, public life, and what it means to balance adventure with motherhood.
