On August 7 KST, Big Hit Music launched the official social media platforms for its new boy group.
The group, known by the name CORTIS, is made up of members Martin, James, Joohoon, Sunghyun, and Geonho. The group name is an acronym for the phrase "Color Outside The Lines" and deviates from the conventional rules of word acronyms by pulling out random alphabet letters rather than the first letters of each word.
Alongside the launch of the group's official social media accounts, Big Hit Music unveiled a series of TikTok videos on August 7 at 12 AM KST. The first video, which revealed the name CORTIS for the first time, was created using the same music making program often used by Martin.
Described as a "young creator crew" of teens in their 10s, CORTIS will officially debut on August 18 KST. Each member will contribute their unique skills to the group including song writing, choreography, videography, etc.
