Big Bang’s Taeyang looked back on his 19-year career as a singer, sharing candid thoughts about the group’s journey.
On August 22, a video titled 'Having a Party. Calling Friends. You coming?😉 | ZIP Multiverse Assemble🏠 | ZIP DAESUNG ep.71' was uploaded to YouTube, bringing together Big Bang members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung to celebrate their 19th debut anniversary.
The gathering included spontaneous appearances by celebrities such as Go Kyung Pyo, CL , Seventeen’s Hoshi, Deuki & Doni, Son Na Eun, and VINCE. During the event, Taeyang opened up, saying, “Looking back on today, I realized something. In the 19 years we’ve been singers, almost nothing has gone according to plan.”
He added, “And even today, nothing is going according to plan. I think this moment perfectly reflects our 19 years together.” Later, the trio strengthened their bond as Daesung presented a bracelet for G-Dragon’s birthday, which they all wore together.
Big Bang debuted in 2006 as a five-member group consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, T.O.P, and Seungri. However, the group later saw departures: Seungri left in 2019 following the 'Burning Sun scandal,' and T.O.P officially departed in 2023 after serving a 10-month prison sentence with a 2-year probation for repeated marijuana use.
Despite the controversies and unexpected changes, Taeyang’s reflection highlights the resilience and enduring bond of the remaining members, celebrating nearly two decades in the spotlight.
