Actress Ji Ye Eun will be stepping away from the spotlight temporarily to focus on her health and recovery.
On August 26 KST, an entertainment industry insider shared,
“Ji Ye Eun needs a short break. After consulting thoroughly with her doctor, she has decided to take some time off, starting from September through October, for a period of around three weeks or more.”
The actress reportedly began feeling unwell recently and visited a hospital for a check-up. Medical professionals advised her to take a short hiatus and focus on self-care, leading to her decision to pause her activities.
A close acquaintance of Ji reassured fans, stating,
“While she’s not in the best condition, it’s nothing serious. There’s no need to worry. She’s been working non-stop for the past few years, and the accumulated fatigue has taken its toll. She plans to return bright and healthy after this much-needed time to recharge.”
Speculation had arisen recently over Ji Ye Eun’s noticeably slimmer appearance, with some fans expressing concern that her health might be deteriorating. However, sources clarified that her transformation was due to successful weight management, not illness.
Another official explained,
“Ji Ye Eun has been following intermittent fasting, maintaining a 16-hour fasting window, and incorporating light daily exercises such as 30 minutes of walking or stretching. She began this routine due to prolonged fatigue and a lack of regular physical activity.”
A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, Ji Ye Eun first gained public attention through 'SNL Korea', where her ability to fully embody a wide range of characters showcased her strong acting skills. She has also captured hearts with her natural charm and quick wit on various variety shows.
Ji Ye Eun is expected to return after her break with renewed energy and her trademark cheerful presence.
