Soobin, a member of boy group Tomorrow X Together (TXT), is set to make his first appearance on a major terrestrial talk show with MBC’s 'Radio Star', airing on Wednesday, July 16 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
Through this episode, Soobin plans to showcase a new side of TXT and prove his own variety show potential. He confidently claims, “Our team isn’t that strong in variety shows, but I’m the closest we’ve got!” expressing his role as the group’s unofficial entertainment representative.
In his attempt to charm the audience, Soobin introduces his quirky “food look-alike” impersonation, assigning unique food-based nicknames like “kimchi dumpling face” and “baby potato face” to the MCs and fellow guests, bringing laughs with his offbeat humor.
He also demonstrates a watermelon-eating challenge, sharing, “I practiced by eating an entire watermelon over two days,” and attempts to clear a large slice in three seconds. Soobin adds, “I’m not good at voice impressions, so I decided to go with something totally ridiculous,” winning cheers for his candidness and effort.
TXT, who debuted to attention as “BTS’s little brothers,” have since carved out a unique identity in K-pop with their distinctive music and performances. During the show, Soobin jokes with a shocking statement, “HYBE’s XXX is like kimchi pizza tangsuyuk (kim-pi-tang),” causing the studio to erupt in laughter. He quickly adds, “The company told me to be careful about what I say,” playfully diffusing the situation. Curiosity grows over who or what “Kim-pi-tang” might be referring to.
