Super Junior's Ryeowook personally responds to a hater on Twitter

Super Junior's Ryeowook recently appeared on the YouTube show 'BGL: Background Live' hosted on the JAYKEEOUT channel, alongside his Super Junior K.R.Y members. The show features artists performing live at a restaurant while pretending the music is just background audio, surprising the diners when the artists reveal they've been singing live the entire time.
During the episode, Ryeowook was seen looking at his phone while singing the first track, "When We Were Us." After the episode was revealed, one user on X (formerly Twitter) criticized him and wrote, "Ryeowook Ahjuhssi (mister), please memorize the lyrics before appearing for the 20th anniversary content... Who looks at their phone while singing 'When We Were Us'?"
On July 21, Ryeowook directly addressed the comment through his own X account, writing, "I'm sorry. It must have been uncomfortable to watch... I know the lyrics but I was nervous and didn't want to forget them. It was a fun shoot, but even after 20 years, it was my first time doing a live performance while pretending it was a studio recording. So, I was sweating. Thank you for listening to our song, ddagae-nim. Have a good day."
Ryeowook's sincere and polite response quickly gained traction on online forums, where many netizens praised his mature and honest response. One netizen wrote, "He said he was nervous and checked the lyrics just in case. The fact that he apologized honestly makes him more likable."
