The Korean thriller film 'Noise,' directed by Kim Soo Jin, has officially surpassed 1 million cumulative viewers.
According to KOBIS (Korean Box Office Information System), 'Noise' recorded a total of 1,000,643 admissions as of 3 p.m. on July 12. The film reached its break-even point on the 18th day since its release.
Despite fierce competition from major international titles, 'Noise' held its ground impressively. While 'Superman' topped the box office on this day, 'Noise' secured second place, followed by 'Jurassic World: Rebirth' in third and 'F1 The Movie' in fourth.
To commemorate the milestone, the 'Noise' team released special thank-you messages from the cast, including Lee Sun Bin, Kim Min Suk, Han Su A, and Ryu Kyung Soo. The messages creatively parodied the ominous threat notes from the film, which center around the theme of disturbing neighbor noise.

Lee Sun Bin shared a note reading, “Thank you and love for 1 million,” while re-enacting the film’s eerie door-knocking scene. Kim Min Suk added, “Thank you to the one million viewers for your overwhelming support.”
The cast is scheduled to meet fans through a stage greeting event on July 13. A representative noted, “Director Kim Soo Jin and the cast will spend a meaningful time with audiences.”
'Noise' is a psychological horror thriller set in a noisy apartment complex plagued by interfloor noise complaints. The story follows Ju Young (played by Lee Sun Bin) as she searches for her missing sister, only to uncover a chilling mystery.
Critics have praised 'Noise' for its realistic and relatable horror, centered on the all-too-familiar issue of interfloor noise in apartment living. The cast’s convincing and spine-chilling performances further amplified the film’s suspense and unease.
